About 8 inches here. Heavy as cement. Lost power around 8 am, came back on around 2:30. Even our fire station had no power for half the day. Now it's raining, which when it freezes tonight will make the world a fun place.

Out here in Norton, it is mostly missing us. We've got about a couple of inches - light and dry. It's 27 degrees with a wind chill of 17. Sunny tomorrow. We had about 3-4 inches last Saturday & Sunday. Rained like pouring pzzz out of a boot most of yesterday.
Speaking of weather-related incidents, I went down to Home Hardware Monday to see the Good Ole Boys, and it was cold as whiz. They had their woodburner with the big fan fired up. I went over and soaked up a little heat, just like everybody else in the store, and commented on how much I enjoyed the heat. Big O (one of the Good Ole Boys) said, "Yup. We figured out a long time ago that on a day like today that stove is a LARD MAGNET." I walked right into it and asked him what he was talking about. He gave me his most polished sh!t-eatin' grin and said," when it's this cold and there's a fahr (that's "fire" to you flatlanders) built, it'll draw your azz right up agin' it in spite of all you can do."

Rain around Richmond. Though I have seen a few flakes today. Nothing too extreme quite yet. Glad to have some hometime. Been driving in snow for the past month. I'm tired of looking at it.

We had about 15 1/2" at noon it has been warmer than 32 so there is substantial melting going on. The snow is obviously going to get heavier as it melts so the longer people wait to shovel it the wrse it will be...

Shovel it? Huh? Round here we jest let it melt off.....the last time I tried a shovel I ended up in agony...so if the salt won't take care of it, we will wait it out.
