I just picked up the 30-06 version. I know there must be many of you with this rifle and wonder what scopes/rings you employed and how it's working out for you.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I'm leaning toward the redfield as reviewed by gunblast.

I thought of buying one, I just can't get into the current mindset of no Iron sights on a Rifle. If Ruger made that an Option I'd have bought one in .308 already, They seem to be well made and well thought out for the price range, I just perfer BUIS on Any Rifle.
With that said, When it comes to Glass, the Sky's the Limit, I'm sure the RedField is a Good choice and I don't see where you would regret your purchase. Let us know how it shoots, They still hold my interest for some reason.

Yea, things I've read suggest they are pretty reasonable scopes. Don't own one, however.

I have shot and recommended the new Redfield scopes. They are quite nice with Japanese glass and assembled & owned by Leupold. The Leupold Rifleman series scopes is just above them in price and quality IMO.
Congrat's on the new rifle. Dad bought one last summer in .243 and I have really enjoyed shooting it. I am not too crazy about the magazine but it shoots sub MOA.

LOL
I gave it to my son....
He put a redfield on it and since I don't hunt much anymore I can borrow it when I do!
Looking forward to shooting it.

I bought one just last month and a Center Point 4-16x40 Scope ($70 ) . Fits the rifle just fine and works Great.I ordered 5 Mags. from Ruger.com and got them in less than 2 weeks.I have shot about 1,300 rds. so far and really like the way the rifle and the scope perform. I have been shooting from 100 yds. to about 250 yds. For an investment of only $450 I could not be more pleased!

The leupold rifleman is a great scope for the money( it is wallmarts version of the vx-1) and the Nikon pro staff is also a good quality budget scope.
