Does anyone know where you can buy 22LR? It seems everyone is out (in stores and online).

The only place I know of is at http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-066 for 22 LR Aguila Super Colibri LRN 20 Grain 500 Box 500 fps No Powder Super Quiet for $35.79. Is this ammo any good?

Colibris are fun - sound is no louder that caps. But that's because they don't have much energy or velocity. Fun to plink with, but not full power ammo.

Check around at small mom & pop stores that most people don't know about. Found 2 555 boxes of Winchester the other week and am picking up 2 525 boxes of Blazer tomorrow. Both around .06 a round.

I've been looking, and very patiently, buying what I can find. You'll have the best luck on sites like this where guys are selling bricks of either 325 or 550. The most I have paid is .12 per round ($40 for a 325 brick). You should also try the VA Gun Trader site. There is a lot on their ammo board including 22lr. One guy had it loose in ziplock bags for .10 a round, but .12 to .15 is the normal price. I'm up to about 3,500 rounds. Good luck!

Haven't seen any at Walmart in a month....I bought 2 Rem. 225 rd.bxs. for $12.95 ea. at True Value in South Hill today. They were dusty...been there awhile.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds likes it time for a road trip out of the Hampton Roads area to seach for ammo. Any 22lr left at True Value in South Hill?

I bought the only 2 . They had about 20-50 rd. bxs. .2 rat shot . I don't think they stock too much anyways.

Jjord, Cheaper than Dirt has been ath-wapin' every gun owner since Newtown... they put up on their site they weren't selling black guns since it's "an emotional time", and they changed the prices IN THE STORES as people were BUYING IT!


They're azzhatz, and now that gunowners are abandoning them en -masse? They're attempting ANY kind of show of good faith to get them back as customers....

Personally? I am not spending another dime with them. Even if they got the lowest price in town. Opportunistic azzhattery from a merchant who does not share my view on firearms, will NOT get my business.

I got lucky at Walmart Rt. 360 and Rt. 288 early this morning. Scored 1-525 rd. bx. .22LR ...$21.97. Last one they had....Salesman said he put 6 on shelf less than 15 minutes ago. I also got 3-50 rd. bxs. Rem. .38 SP ....$19.97 ea. They had several more , but a 3 bx. limit.

Sold the whole case of .22lr. Thanks guys and good shooting.

Dick's gets stock on Fridays, so that's your best bet if you have one local to you.
