MythBusters did an episode on this.. The round would cook off at about 425 degrees.. The smaller calibers would leave the bullet on the tray while the brass went flying..

Out of the many many questions I have after reading this I think the one that sticks out the most is why was she trying to make waffles in the oven?

He never explained to officers why he put the clip with four live rounds in the oven.
How could he explain something that he did not do since he put a magazine in the oven, not a clip?

That should be true of any round where the brass weighs less than the bullet unless the brass was prevented from moving by (for instance) being in a dense pile of other objects, such as other rounds.
