Did a quick search and I didn't see this topic. MODS please remove if it has been discussed.

Anyone have good recommendations of an online retailer for ammo? Looking for 5.56, 9mm and 40.

You're going to have to wait for supply to catch up but my go to place is Freedommunitions.com.

Pretty much everyone is sold out for those calibers. Best thing is to get on a backorder list so that when it does come in stock, your order gets filled. Sorry to say, but you will just have to wait it out. Unless you are willing to pay the premium price and purchase from auction sites where the price is averaging .60 cents to a dollar for most plinking rounds.

You could check out AIG Tactical (This website owners e-commerce site.) You can find a link on the side column, or http://all-in-general.com/

For a more general search engine time site, you can check out ammo-seek or ammo engine.

either check the usual places 2-3 times a day for an in-stock item or place a backorder and wait til July.

you can watch slickgundeals and try to catch the instock, but lots of that stuff is gone before I even get to it.

Ammoseek.com is a pretty good search site that spans 31 different retailers. I like it because it sorts by price per round.

I had some luck tonight with cheaper than dirt for 9MM, 45 ACP and 22 LR. Off brands, but cheap

Assuming you are willing to wait until the market settles down......

Remind me, i will help point you to place I have ordered from in the past.

If not, I suggest reloading. It is the only place I know to get good ammo for a reasonable cost right now.

components in common calibers, 223, 308, and vitrually all powder is sold out everywhere.

Reloading was a good thing to get into 3 months ago... now much less so.

http://www.ammoengine.com/find/ammo/.22 ... _5.56x45mm

Lists member merchants that have ammo in stock and lists the current prices. I have not looked for a while, but it seems the number of merchants has dropped since last time I used them, or it could be lots of merchants just do not have stock. Some of the ammo types has dropped of the list as well.

Appreciate the tip. When they have stuff in stock, it's at a great price. Recently bought some .380 and .45 Long Colt from them. Haven't shot the .45 yet, but went through a box of .380 with no malfunctions.

Check Natchezss and Sportsman Guide. Just ordered Federal Lake City 5.56 XM855 62gr Green Tip 100/bag for $79.99 from Natchezss, not the best price and not the worse price.....all things considered. It looks like they still have some in stock.
