I think this two party business is killing this country. We keep getting offered a choice between a statist with an R or a statist with a D. Damn few of the R's and none of the D's understand or care about the Constitution.

The Republicans are too busy destroying their Conservative competition to worry about anything else it seems. They are running as far and as fast as they can away from anything resembling conservatism.

The Tea Party is only liberty minded on the welfare state spending. It seems most are just fine with the warfare and police state spending and readily blast Libertarians for being philosophically consistent when the oppose all three. There is some shared ground, but most Republicans are still pushing the triumph of the state over the individual just as Democrats do.

Exactly. Why do I want to fight one side who's trying to tell me how to live a certain part of my life by joining another side who's trying to tell me how to live another part of my life?
