New Member from Roanoke Area

Hey everybody! I've been reading a lot of great things on these forums, and thought I would join. I'm from right outside of Roanoke (born and raised), and have been fortunate to be able to enjoy the shooting sports for most of my life. Prior to a career change, I worked as a 911 dispatcher for several years. I was able to have exposure to different types of firearms, which really expanded my knowledge. I love it all, but I'm probably most interesting in gaining more personal defense tactics and improving my skill where that is concerned. As a woman (and everybody, I suppose), I'm always looking to learn new ways to defend myself and not become a victim. I own several various guns, but recently acquired a S&W M&P Shield 9mm that I'm really, really, really (really) excited about.
