I'm sure Cuomo, Feinstein, et al. would qualify it as "depends upon what the definition of self defense is" (a la the Clintonian definition of "is is").

The wording is very interesting. If someone could post some links to te requests and they are worded that way, perhaps there's dissent in the ranks of DHS over the new agenda.

The strange part is that the DHS is calling AR-15's with 30 round magazines "Self defense weapons". The whole argument from the left is that no one needs such a scary beast of a gun for self defense.

Thus my supposition. DHS didn't need to label them that way for a purchase... but someone in there did.

If there is dissention in the ranks at DHS, and other guv'mint agencies... and some military sorts... do you think that perhaps the admin has realized, it's fighting a "two-front" war? Public opinion is one thing, private action is another.

Some folks might not realize this, but the Federal workforce takes the oath, too. At least, 20+ years ago, they did.

I know I need select fire in a "PDW" (to use the slang)! Just wish I could afford the rounds on a select fire weapon...

Does this mean that the manufacturer gets a pass so their bank will loan them the money to start up production? Maybe the same company can crank out another 7k for the civilian market too.

As long as they can gear up production for the semi-auto civilian market, then I'd be cool with it.
