Did the big bad NRA do that, or was it just the action of numerous right-thinking individuals? I know liberals have a hard time with the idea that anything happens unless somebody's manipulating the general public, but it does happen sometimes amongst the independent-minded.

I would love to know how the same actions by those boycotting Cheaper Than Dirt, and Dick's Sporting Goods, are going...

Have they released any statements?

Anyone ever been to that show? I keep seeing it called the biggest on the East Coast, but I'd never heard of it....

I go every year. It's huge, but it's more for outdoor sporting and hunting then firearms.

The list of vendors that pulled out is over 300.. The NRA is not the boogie man on this one..

Hazzah! Let's chalk this one up as a win and celebrate. Finally we are getting to the point of being ticked off enough to talk with our money. That is what we have been missing the whole time. Going to order order two chicken sandwiches at Chick-Fil-A tomorrow and a milkshake to boot.

The show organizers are saying "postponed" rather than cancelled.
This would be a golden opportunity for a pro-2a business to swoop in and take their place.

That's totally true personally I must have missed the coordinated effort from the NRA. Did they even send an email about it?

Just as the promoters of the show have a right to decide what/who can show items/materials at their show - those same people have a right to decide whether or not they want to attend the show to advertise their products.

So, who is at fault? The promoters have a job to set up an environment where the vendors they invite feel like attending the show is beneficial to their business. To me, that means the failure here is with the promoters. They set the tone and the vendors responded.

They have as much right looking for sympathy as the kid who keeps poking a stick at the wasp's nest till he gets stung and then cries about the stings.

+1 Reminds me of the Dixie Chicks whining about "censorship" when large numbers of people stopped buying their music.

Not sure if the NRA put anything out. I haven't seen anything like a coordinated effort from them on this. There is a Facebook page that was created to aid in the boycott. I think word just got around.

The one thing that irritates me is all the "pro hunters" who are "anti-black rifle" complaining.

Um. Asshats? They're not going to stop at those "Evil Black Rifles" because when you have a bolt action in a "heavy caliber", they're going to call it "sniper rifles", and ban those. Shotguns that are pump, or auto? Wwweeellll Joe Biden thinks you should only have a double barrel.

We're in this TOGETHER! It's not the NRA, GOA, VCDL, or GOD whose making us do ANYTHING! WE are talking online, thru forums, emails, in person in gun shops, gunshows. WE are telling one another about events, statements, and issues.

This is NOT Friggin 1994! WE AIN'T GOING THAT EASY! Oh Heeellll no!

So Reed Exhibition is whining to an anti-gun mayor, whose whining to a milquetoast Governor. WTFever! Pound glassy shards of sand! Should have thought about your consequences before you opened your MOUTH!

Sir, I believe you might be talking about Fishersville at Augusta Expoland, that would be at Exit 91 of Interstate 64 and roughly 30 miles from Harrisonburg, VA.

The next Harrisonburg show will be February 23-24 http://www.showmasters.us/ShowInformati ... fault.aspx
