I kept looking for some indication that this was actually from The Onion, but no... It does read like satire, though.

The rest of the stories by the same writer on that site have a serious tone and none of them are in the op-ed or humor sections.

That "fearsome arsenal" looks like someone dumped out my kids' toy bin from years past. I must have been a horrible parent!

Such exercises in asininity are indeed our future if we do not remain vigilant and vocal. Anyone else notice the pair of scissors in the pile in the main pic? Scissors. Scary stuff (the article, I mean, not what's in the pics)

I guess that's what comes after the gun ban...a knife ban. Most of those looked like kitchen knives. I wonder how the great chefs of the UK chop things now.

The comments from the Brits are hilarious, but the ones from the U.S., WOW! I love the guy who said "Jebus! I have an XD, and a Glock in my laptop bag right now! What are they 'weapons of mass destruction'?!!?"

This is a PRIME example of criminalizing the trivel.

And I think the politicians in the U.S. WANT what UK has, but the PEOPLE are fighting them! GOOD!

Heck half of those I know for a fact to be cheap replicas that'll sooner break than kill!

From what little I know of British cuisine, that's not a problem because there ARE no great chefs in the UK.

The UK has undercover cops sitting in pubs to arrest anyone overheard making racist comments. This should give you a rough idea of what you're dealing with in regards to their outlook.

there also was a proposal in the UK recently to limit the size of kitchen knives as large knives have no application for the home cook.... seriously.

Like prisoners, those deprived will make weapons of anything. Look
for mower blades and leaf springs in cars to be banned next.

First guns were demonized and outlawed, now knives and other edged weapons. Next will be hammers, then cricket bats. When a government fears its people, it has to take away everything that scares or threatens it.

When are we as a society going to learn that we can't prevent all death from happening? As much as they would love to, the libtards can't protect everyone from everything.
