Java Zero day exploit

Since this is in my field.....
My guess is you know about this already, but just in case......

I came to the conclusion the best thing for me to do was remove Java from my PC.

Agreed. So few of my customers actually use Java it's a lot easier to just remove it.

Same here. Got rid of it almost 2 years ago, haven't missed it - or needed it - one little bit.

Howdy,
One thing the article didn't make clear is that the danger is in the browser plug-in, which should be disabled or set to PROMPT. Java 7 v10 installs a CPL applet to let you do that. The JRE is ok for those applications that require it.
Yeah, a lot of us less-than-technical types have apps and visit sites that use java.
By the way, once everyone knows about a zero-day exploit, is it still a zero-day?
