Northern Virginia Gun Club - King George, VA

I went to my first members' meeting at Northern Virginia Gun Club (NVGC) yesterday (governed by Robert's Rules). It was "working party" day (the third Saturday of every month except January) and I mounted some porch lights on the new clubhouse/restroom. There's a porta-potty there now, but in an effort to gain more attendance by people of the fairer sex, a restroom has been built. It should be operational within the next month or so.
After the meeting, I joined up with a couple of guys and shot a round of skeet on the upper range. Each skeet round is $3.00 to cover the cost of the clays which they have stocked in each the upper and lower houses. I only had a box of 25 rounds with me, so even though one of the guys offered to let me shoot one of his boxes of ammo, I thanked him and just sat down to watch the next round.
I have to be "qualified" before I can have access to the skeet houses on my own. I hope to get that done on short order so that I can take a couple of friends down there to enjoy a couple hours of shooting clays with me.
Then, I headed down to the lower pistol range with my new S&W .40 cal. I set up a target on the 25 yard range and shot up 50 rounds there. There is also a 50yd, 100yd and 200 yard range right there, all with benches and covered by a roof.
It's a really nice place. Now that my membership is active, I hope to be spending some quality time there.
Check the link at the end of this post for a membership application if anyone is interested. The cost to join is $100.00 "Initiation fee" plus $90.00 yearly dues. The second year and each subsequent year is $90.00 yearly plus a required purchase of 4 shares of stock at $35.00 each until you have purchased a total of 35 shares over a 9 year period. After that, you pay only $90.00 per year.
The property is a 233 acre parcel in King George County, VA on the corner of Route 218 (Caledon Road) and Indiantown Road. The entrance to the facility is gated and locked on Route 218.
