Will my 401k be taxed?

Post by OakRidgeStars »

Who wants to lay odds on how long it will take the government looters to latch onto your 401k money like a hungry deer tick?

A lot sooner now, thanks to the idiots who voted for Zero's second term.

It's why I have lowered my contribution rate to the safe minimum, not the amount I need for retirement.

I suspect I won't be needing a 401k, or Roth IRA in the "Re-education Camps" any way. :hysterical:

I expect it no later than 2015. With a little effort, 2014.

Be sure to check this one:

"the single mom is better off earnings gross income of $29,000 with $57,327 in net income & benefits than to earn gross income of $69,000 with net income and benefits of $57,045."
Want to get your country back? Lay down, relax, work less, earn less, and take as much welfare as you can, until the system collapses. Then you will have a chance to rebuild it right.
I went thru this process, but my country failed to start it again right.
And you can make it great: while sitting on the porch waiting for welfare check, you can yell on liberals that they don't pay enough "fair share".

Yes, it already is/will be. Will it be taxed more? Probably.

Sad that success is viewed by the "takers" as theirs.

When no one contributes, what will they do?

I don't "contribute" now, I'm robbed on a regular basis. I, like many others, have had enough!

A full-scale tax reform could cut or limit specific tax breaks as a way of lowering overall tax rates. President Barack Obama has said he will raise taxes for wealthy Americans, and trade groups representing both employers and financial services firms have voiced concerns that the tax benefits of 401(k) plans could be slashed
Voicing concerns about and plans to actually do aren't the same thing. In any event, there will likely be some tinkering on these, it'll be billed as "we're subsidizing your retirement with these preferential tax treatments", which is true, but the people with jobs are the last people who need another tax increase, however cloaked it may be.

Tax food stamps, they can pay in bling.

Kreutz, how do you swing me from "WTF IS HE TALKING ABOUT!?!?" to "DAMN THAT IS A GOOD IDEA!" ?!?

I concur with your assessment.

I think taxes should be increased FAIRLY ACROSS THE BOARD! No one gets back MORE money than they PAID INTO THE SYSTEM! PLUS? CUT ALL PROGRAMS ACROSS THE BOARD BY 10%....

ALL OF THEM!

Let the bureaucrats in each program figure out how to use the funds.
