Question for VA FFL's or People with UPINs

I constantly get delayed, typically each time worse than the next. Now for the first time I'm "In Research" It's been since Saturday afternoon. Still nothing. Here's my question if I do the Voluntary Appeals thing with NICS, how does that work on the next purchase? I know I put the UPIN on the form, but in most states the FFL calls NICS, which would be when they'd give my number, but here in VA it's the online system through VSP. It there a different procedure when somebody has one? Or something I need to make an FFL aware of to make sure that info is passed on so I'm not held up at State Level?

Please, For accuracy don't reply if your not an FFL or not person that uses a UPIN to purchase

Thanks

You could go to the local VSP barrack and get them to do a quick recent criminal history check. With all of the identity theft going on one might use your personal information to set up an alias. Nobody would steal my identity, it is worthless and in debt!

I'm not an FFL but would like to become one. So, can you least explain the nomenclature. I lost you with the antonyms.

You can only do Voluntary Appeals if you are denied. Being put "In Research" is a Virginia thing that is pretty much a super delay. Oh and having a UPIN won't fix delays, it ensures you WILL be delayed, because they have to manually check the UPIN number.

Here's a question, did your FFL call the State Police when doing your background check? There is no place for UPIN on the VSP website. All UPINs must be called in via telephone. If they didn't call, that may be the reason for your longer delay.
