just wanted to start another thread for this season. I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable 2012 hunting season. I am sure there are some nice deer and stories out there to be shared so let's see and hear about them. I was blessed with a a very productive 2nd week of muzzle-loader season. I joined a great group of guys at a deer camp this season and have enjoyed sitting back and listening to all there old hunting stories at camp. It started the second Saturday of muzzle-loader, I took my 14 year old daughter out on a piece of private property that I got permission to hunt so I was leaving this area strictly for the kids. Well 45 minutes into the stand she gets her first deer!

So Tuesday of that week I picked up my son from school at 3:30 and we went to the same stand and sat until just about dark and he scored on his first buck! this is his second deer, he got a doe last season.

So now it is Dads turn, with the freezer full I was not going to shoot the first deer to show itself..... I lied, this was the first deer that showed himself at 3:15 in the afternoon on the National Forest! I ended up being by myself that evening so I had a loooong drag up out of a hollow to camp then a 1 mile trip down the mountain with him on a deer cart. My biggest and very proud (as you can tell!) we all had a chance this season.

Thanks for reading, I hope to see and read about all your hunting stories too!
