Interesting, according to this I moved from a producer state (NY) to a welfare state.
I wonder how accurate that is?

Not very. VA, MD, and DC will always be negative because of the Federal government being located there. The Pentagon alone will never allow VA to be a "producer" state.

Pentagon, all the military bases, all of the government facilities... Which makes me wonder how I could easily pull the data to provide a better system of graphs.

Looking at this it makes yankees look like they produce alot more than southerners, but what people forget is states like MS and AL have the dirt poor. ALso looking at demographics its not hard to figure out that welfare rates are higher in those states down south. NOt because people dont work, but there are many people that view guvmnet checks and phones as reparations for slavery. i would be curious if the same thing was done and based taxes by demographics
