Was at Bob's in Norfolk today and paid $40.94 for a fifty round box of 124 gr. hydra-shok "tactical". There was a fellow customer in there spouting off about the gov't having the primers and other components of cartridges embedded with some sort of microchip or something. There were others in there complaining that primers, cartridges and some bullets were backordered and the suppliers were telling some not to bother ordering. Anyone else heard this? Still I do not like paying this much for street load and they didn't have much for practice stuff either, was fifteen ninety nine a box I think. Just curious.

Ever since the present election the number of carry permits nation wide has gone through the roof.Ammo with increased demand has emptied the shelves of many gun stores .A good indicator is the cost of 22 long rifle --I hold my breath when I went to gander mt. for a box of 45 - 70.but unfortunately it is what it is .I believe micro stamping has been decided to be to costly,and not that effective.try buck rate ammo ,especially target loads,my carry rnds are always premimum.

It can be hard to find this stuff but there is some out there. I think some places are price gouging, just have to shop around.

124 grain Hydrashoks are 9mm rounds - available in regular load and +P.

I don't think that too bad a price for 50 rounds of HydraShok. Those are premium rounds and it's worth the extra cost to carry them. I don't shoot them at the range though. That gets expensive quickly

If you're looking for decent prices on local ammo, check out The Armory in Va Beach
Not sure what their selection looks like at the moment as I haven't been in there in a couple weeks, but I do know that they were back to having some stuff on the shelves, even in 9mm and .45

The best thing by far that I've found to do to get decently priced ammo is to order on line. Check out ammo to go. They are well stocked on pretty much everything but .380. I've dealt with them several times. They usually have what I'm looking for with quick decently priced shipping. The bit about microchips and stamps is bogus although obama tried to get it passed in IL.

Right now they have Speer Gold Dot 9mm 115gr. +P+ Hollow Point for $24.95 / 50.

I stopped by last weekend and they still had a good selection of handgun ammo on the shelf. Not to mention a lot of .223 and 5.56 out on the floor.

I bought some 9mm for the m9. The supply of nine is low but they seem to think there will be more soon. Am giong to The Armory to check it out too. Need to get some pracitce ammo too and get more time in on it.
