If the debate was who could be a bigger jack-wagon and interrupt his opposition well joe won that one. But if it was on understanding what they want to do, we'll I think Ryan got him despite Bidens anti fold interruption.

Ryan definitely got the big one liner with the comment about words not coming out right.

I watched it with a friend who leans left. Her litmus test is abortion rights. She and I pretty much agreed that the moderator didn't lean left or right, I can't complain abut the job she did. I couldn't believe she started with Libya, that was definitely an easy pitch for Representative Ryan to start off with. I heard the time was about evenly divided, about 1 minute more for Vice President Biden than Representative Ryan. Vice President Biden definitely interrupted more than Representative Ryan did. At times, Vice President Biden seemed to loose his cool, Representative Ryan seemed much more controlled. As far as evaluating who "won", I would have to say it was a draw. I don't think that the VP debate is going to sway any Obama voters to Romney, nor will any Romney voters switch to Obama. If anything comes out of this, I think it will motivate both parties bases.

Biden blew himself up. He made Algore look like a gentleman.

I was waiting for Biden to tell everyone to get off his lawn. Hard to tell if someone switched his meds around or if that was just Joe being Joe.

The media are all talking about "laughing Joe". I came away from watching that debate thinking of Biden as "stuttering Joe". He took 2 or 3 stuttering fits that made me wonder if he forgot to take his Alzheimer's meds.

I thought it was an inconclusive swearing match. Even though I personally felt Ryan was right and Biden was wrong, the issue really is, "was anyone persuaded to change or make up their mind?" There is no time and no way to cite evidence and argue methodically and authoritatively about complex substantive issues in such a forum; and if there was, most people would probably get bored and switch channels to SWAMP RATS (or whatever). So what you had was Biden and Ryan each throwing throwing their version of the facts at each other and people believeing whichever one they believed before the debate began. So I'd say it probably WAS a draw.

So the only way to "score" such a debate is on some superficial "appearances"-based basis. Like using college debate judging criteria; which I have always felt was simple-minded and ridiculuous. Or just who seemed to be the bigger horse's @ss. And on about any such (stupid) basis, I'd have to say that Ryan came out a little better than Biden. And I'm not certain there will be any net impact on the election either way.

I think he found Obama's crack stash just before the debate.

The hugest thing is what was missing as in the POTUS debate; Romney and Ryans specific numbers.

Methinks this "just wait and see you'll love it" tax plan of theirs is eerily similar to a certain promise on a different huge policy decision by a Mrs Pelosi.

As for the two of them, one was stuttering and sputtering while the other doing his best to not really answer anything so it was what I expected. Altough it was a good shot by Uncle Joe that Ryan contributed to cutting embassy security funds.

For what its worth I suspect when Biden calls you "my friend" it means he wants to kill you. He looked mad.

Perhaps Ryan could have given specifics if Biden did not cut him off 82 times in 90ish minutes. I would like to have heard what Ryan was trying to say.

To be fair, I would like more specifics too from both of them. After all hope is not a good way to govern for either party.
