The live report was held up because of the traffic jam of cars and people trying to get to Fishersville and into the venue.

A little of Wayne LaPierre's warmup of the crowd and introduction can be seen starting at @4:30 in the video.

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney brought his campaign and the national spotlight to Augusta County Thursday evening. The event featured a concert from country music star Trace Adkins and huge traffic snarls.

Augusta County offers a rough crowd estimate of 10,000 people. Their voices reached a crescendo with each reference to Wednesday night's presidential debate. Romney's supporters hope that performance - combined with Thursday night's event - gives new lift to the underdog candidate.

One could make the argument that Obama is the more pro gun as he sign the law regarding Amtrak carry and national park carry.

Ugh, Jake. Obama didn't intentionally sign either of those into law. They were riders on more important legislation, and he would have been foolish to veto them. So, by proxy, he gets to "look like" he's not anti-gun, when in truth, we all know just how anti he really is. This is the game that they play so that they can make claims when election season comes around. I've already heard of at least two democrats claim that "they supported national park carry", when in fact, they didn't when it was a stand-alone bill.

Don't let them trick you, Jake.

As for Romney - this is a case of choosing the lesser of two evils in every sense of the words. ABO2012!

I realize that, I'm more or less playing devils advocate. No doubt Romney is just as bad when it comes to guns.

You're a little to young to be that cynical, and there are two major differences. Romney isn't as likely to issue an edict (executive order, even if it is an unconstitutional one) and Romney won't have Eric Holder as the Attorney General who will execute the edict.

As for the rest of the Republicans, I think most of them know that gun control is a poison pill they don't want to touch. It wasn't that long ago that the House changed from Democratic control to Republican control, the biggest factor being the Assault Weapons Ban. It ended 40 years of Democrat control.

Funny thing is? Most of Obama's policies ARE Bush policies! That's why quite a few DEMS have decided to vote for ROMNEY!
