SR1911 - Cosmetic changes.

First off, let me say that this has become my favorite shooter. I didn't think any other gun could dethrone my Beretta 92 but the SR1911 has. However one thing I didn't like was the 2 tone look. I know some people love it but I was just not a big fan. After shooting it for a few months and "breaking it in", I decided to order some Ed Brown parts and make the changes. Every black piece has been replaced except for the hammer, Mainspring retaining pin, and of course, the sights (which will not be swapped out). All the "drop in" parts had to be fitted and bead blasted to match the gun with the exception of the mainspring housing.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks Bryan. It's amazing how little changes can make it feel like a new gun.

That is some pretty hardware. Very nice. That should be carried OWB.

Very impressive. The SR1911, IMO, is a really outstanding 1911 for the money. and compares well with some 1911s costing 4-5 times as much money. You started out with a dang nice 1911 and made it exceptionally nice.

I've been thinking of buying another 1911 this spring but can't decide on the ruger or the taurus they both seem to be a good value. What's your opinion? p.s. where did you find those grips?!

That's a no-brainer. The Ruger.
