Finally switched over to IWB

for my LCP. Now that winters coming and I'll always have either a jacket or long shirt, it kinda makes sense. Plus I got tired of pocket carry. Its easy to access but always flopping around and slapping my leg. And takes up space better served for a wallet or keys.

Its the little skinny Galco one by the way, untreated leather with a plastic clip.

I think its this one:

Very comfortable once you get used to it. Sits nicely, no slipping or flopping, easy to draw.

Funny, I think of IWB for summer, and am happy when sweater/jacket weather comes so I can go with the pancake or paddle.

Very nice! They also have one for my Kel-Tec for the same price (which is less than ones I've been looking at). Thanks for sharing!!

I dont know why I got so excited to move over to the Galco. What I really need is a holster for the P290, cuz thats what I should be carrying in the winter.
380 hollow points lose a lot of energy when they go through leather and denim. I need to be using a 9mm now.

 An experience not wholly unfamiliar to those who are, shall we say, "more blessed" than others.

Have you seen the DeSantis Pocket Shot? My cousin carries with this, and it looks like a wallet in his back pocket.

I carry my Kahr CW9 IWB with a Don Hume Leather holster. I purchased it on the Kahr store website for 25 bucks. I think they are about 30 now. Hume makes these for many different models.

I've always wondered about an IWB holster; primarily the comfort. I'd like to try one but my idea of one is that it greatly reduces the waist size of the pants or shorts you're wearing.

Are they extremely restrictive? Do they require an extra size up or anything?

About 1 hole on the belt for an about 4:30 carry on a commander size 1911 in 45. Barely noticable. I guess it would really depend upon how you wear your pants.

It really depends on the style.

Go find a nice store with lots of them and see what they look like. Mine is a generic leather things I got from a dude at a gun show. He claimed to make them himself.

I use a Crossbreed SuperTuck DeLuxe, and and wear my normal pants whether I am carrying or not. (Although I am careful when buying clothes that they are not too tight.) I wear my belt one notch looser when I am carrying, and there is no problem with comfort. I used to use a paddle holster when carrying a SIG 228, but I find the Crossbreed to offer a lot more flexibility regarding a compatible wardrobe.

Thanks for all the info. I'll have to check it out. I recently moved to Virginia from the People's Republic of Illinois and with the sudden "freedom" to carry I'm enjoying trying different holsters.

My favorite so far is a Galco but it's no good during the summer with a T-shirt and a full size .45.

My favorite carry method is IWB, but I have not used a holster in probably a year. I carry my Ruger SP 101 using a Clipdraw (www.clipdraw.com).

I carry IWB exclusively, all seasons of the year, and have been very satisfied with the Milt Sparks Summer Special and the Comp-tac MTAC.

Regarding sizing of pants, I bought a little plastic waist band extender from amazon. It cost under ten bucks for five of them. It lets you go up a size without buying new pants. I use this with my crossbreed supertuck and my S&W 3913...super comfortable. Here is the link:

Once nice thing about being chubby: with a Hawaiin shirt nobody can see that thing at all.

Another nice thing: Skinny guys look gay in Hawaiin shirts.

carry my Glock 27 in a Comp Tac Minotaur holster, it has an adjustable cant, firearm tension adjust, swap out the kydex sheath to change firearm, swap out the belt loops when I change to a different belt for the best fit I have ever had. It offers so many options and angles.

+1 I've been using the Minotaur for a while now, and I LOVE it. Very versatile and comfortable. Never had a problem with them.
