Walther PPS

Just wanted to give you guys a update on my walther pps chambered in .40 S&W. I was out shooting it a few weeks back at the shoot & greet down in Gore VA. I had a failure to feed, when I went to clear the weapon it would not go back into battery. I could not brake it down either since the trigger would not reset (glock method of brake down pull trigger then tabs) I tried the Walther method of removing the back strap still no cheese.
Once home I did a little research walther forums. I found that i could remove the panel on the back of the slide pull out the striker assembly and then be able to remove the slide from the frame. I did that and right away I noticed the striker was all mangled and the trigger connector was broke. I contacted walther which referred me to smith & weston. They told me I had to send it in if they were going to cover the damages. I sent if off over a week ago, I called today to make sure they revived it (they have) I asked what the turn around time would be and was told 4-5 weeks
. Any one else have any experience with bad walthers? I bought the gun brand new 2 years ago shot probably 1000 rounds through it and have had only maybe 1 failure before. This was my everyday carry which makes me a little sad.
since then I started carrying a small 38 special but i just didnt feel that was the right fit so now I have been carrying my s&W M&P 45c in a cross breed supertuck and have been loving it. Not sure if im going to go back to the walther after this issue gets resolved. What are your thoughts?
