Just North of town on Rt.522,it sits along Back Creek,on Rt.600.
First year dues are $80,then $50 thereafter.
Memberships are available at Old Dominion Sport Center,2828 Valley Ave.

A nice scenic area with covered pavillions and picnic areas, playground for the kids, and a nice size pond that is stocked.
Shelters are available to rent for special occasions.
Also has 200 + 430 acres for hunting on Siler Rd.,and by the Sand Mine off Rt.50 in Gore on Back Creek Rd.

Now for the shooters,
An Archery Range,
7 or so Station Skeet/Trap Range,
2 Station dedicated 100 yard Rifle Range,
and,
a 4 Lane Pistol Range with targets @ 7,12.5,15,and 17 yards, plus the left lane is clear to shoot out to 50 yards.

(Rant mode:ON)
Like to keep the Shotgunners from destroying the plywood on the pistol range, but I'm a Carpenter,so the supply is good for replacing. :bangin:
And also would like to see the pistol range get a roof overhead...(Rant:OFF)

I'd invite all the NoVa's,but you must be a member to use any facilities.

I recommend it to any Frederick/Clark/Warren and Shenandoah county residents.Hope to see some of y'all out there!
Cheers,Stix.

Great!
You shoot pistol?
Maybe we met before?
Usually I'm there Saturday mornings, with mostly Berettas.
Blue Chevy Silverado with Tan Cap on the back, pulling plywood out to renew what the shotgunners have done. :hysterical:

Forgot to mention...Pistol range closes @ 12 noon Saturday, if there's a shotgun match.

Hope to meet you Sir,Stix.

Sure do,
It's the patch of the 52nd Tactical Fighter Wing out of Spangdahlem.
I belonged to a Virtual version and we did training and missions online with a flight simulator called "OpenFalcon",a great improvement to Falcon 4.0.
We modeled ourselves after the real 52nd.
We flew F16-CJ Block 52's,and the 22nd FS was our SEAD and the 23rd was A-A fragged.

Geeky? yeah, but a lot of fun!

I love your drummer at the bottom. Until I became disabled, I was a gigging drummer for many years.

I have some questions about the conservation club itself. My parents used to be members a long time ago when I was a kid. I remember having a lot of fun fishing and the family picnics. I know have a family of my own and even grandchildren that I would love to have that experience. However there is one problem I live in WV. Do you allow out of staters to join the club, if so what is the rate. If not and say my mom and stepdad who live in clarke county were to join would the entire family be able to participate or is it only those living in the household.

Thanks

That's cool, I was just wondering if you were ever stationed there? I was stationed there for 9 years from 91-97 and then again 05-08. I was just surprised to see the Seek Attack Destroy patch on here.

Last I heard you have to live in Frederick County to be able to become a member of the club.

I had a membership form around here somewhere.

Thanks Speedy/HH!
I dig your "Animal" one...as well as your beautiful kit! Image
I'll PM ya some cool stuff.

@ Bard69;
That's cool!
What did you do there?

@ onebad88fan;
Frederick/Warren/Clarke and Shenandoah residents can join.
If your folks got a membership, you could go along with them, but not have access to the Range or Fishing/Hunting.
However, with them having Clarke County residency, that may be a different case.
I'd call Old Dominion Sports and see what they say.

Thanks for posting this info. I have been looking for information on this club for some time. I knew about the Izaak Walton south of me, but could never find anyone who was a member or could sponsor me. I hope to get setup with membership soon and can start using the range, plus somewhere the kids can do some things.

Utah, not sure bout the a##hat giving you grief.
That's weird.
Even if you backed right up to the benches, you are still not on the range.
Now if you parked sideways along the orientation of the benches and took up 2 of them, perhaps maybe then.
The parking is right at the benches still, and I venture that it holds 7 or 8 vehicles, maybe more.
If it's busy, parking is tight, but I have parked in the grass by the rifle benches before with no problem.

One solution is to go early and pick your spot.

One item to keep in mind,
there is no RO,so safety and awareness are on us.
Never had any problem though.

Do I sense an upcoming Range Day for us VGOFers...? :first:

Is there a location on line to receive the current news letter and meeting information?
I lost my newsletter and don't really want to go back by Ol D.

Im new here, Ive lived in winchester for a little over a year now. I moved to winchester from front royal. I ran across this while trying to find some land to hunt in the winchester/frederick county area im gettin sick of having to drive to front royal or bentonville to hunt. I have also been looking for a good archery range in winchester so maybe i will join this if there is room for me. Im kinda of a young guy im only 22 but was raised around hunting and have been hunting since i was old enough to cary a rifle. Im very safe around firearms and bows or whatever else might be around. I have a little girl of my own now she is only 8 months old right now but she will be hunting with me as soon as she is old enough. Before my daughter was born hunting was something i took very seriously i have always spent alot of time in the woods durring hunting season. If anyone here has or knows of any land in winchester they would be willing to let someone like me hunt on PLEASE let me know. I dont leave trash behind and i pick up any trash that i see, out of all the deer i have shot i have never lost one. Sorry for the wall of text by the way.

Only complaint is you might get a little jarred at the pistol range when you hear a 50 cal going off a few feet over at the shotgun range
