Getting address changed on you CHP?

I know the State Police site says we can get our address changed but does anybody know the process? I've checked the Henrico PD page and Courts and can't figure it out. Does anybody know if we just get our current permit re-printed with a new address, or re-apply and pay? I assuming it's easier than I'm expecting. I've been in VA for 3 yrs but still brainwashed by MA where I'd have to re-apply, re PAY and WAIT like it's my first one!

Just call the Clerk of the Circuit Court that issued it and ask. Out here in my part of the Commonwealth, you could bet they'll be courteous and helpful. But east of the Blue Ridge, I wouldn't care to hazard a guess.

The address on my Resident Concealed Handgun Permit is no longer correct. Is my permit still valid?
Yes, but you may request a replacement permit if you wish. The clerk of a circuit court that issued a valid concealed handgun permit shall, upon presentation of the valid permit and proof of a new address of residence by the permit holder, issue a replacement permit specifying the permit holder's new address.

Just go back to your circuit court clerk. They'll print out a new one for you. The clerk misread my application and put my height as 6'8" instead of 5'8". When I asked about it, she said it was "very important that I get that fixed".

K1. The clerk of a circuit court that issued a valid concealed handgun permit shall, upon presentation of the valid permit and proof of a new address of residence by the permit holder, issue a replacement permit specifying the permit holder's new address. The clerk of court shall forward the permit holder's new address of residence to the State Police. The State Police may charge a fee not to exceed $5, and the clerk of court issuing the replacement permit may charge a fee not to exceed $5. The total amount assessed for processing a replacement permit pursuant to this subsection shall not exceed $10, with such fees to be paid in one sum to the person who receives the information for the replacement permit.
Its not a requirement to have the address changed, but there is the process if you'd like to have it done. Just go to your CC clerk's office and request the change.
