New 2A-oriented podcast: Liberal's Gun Corner

Hello folks,

A Conservative and I are trying out an experiment. We believe that there is a place for a pro-2A-oriented podcast, from a Liberal perspective. Ergo, "The Liberal's Gun Corner" has recently launched. It is the newest member of the Gun Rights Radio Network (GRRN).

We aim to cover guns (of course), as well as what it means, and what perhaps it should mean, to be a pro-2A Liberal. It most definitely does not automatically mean "Democrat", as I am no fan of that Party and haven't been for quite a few years now.

For those of you who know who I am, it's been a long time. Hello again.

For those who don't, yes, there are folks who are very pro-2A, like myself, who are not necessarily Conservatives. Being pro-freedom, and thus pro-2A, is not a partisan issue. It's a liberty issue.

For anyone with an open mind. come have a look and see what you think.

It is also on the iTunes podcast network, BTW, for those of you with iPods and their derivatives.

Howdy, CowboyT! I'll give it a listen. Always love hearing rational discussion from across the spectrum.

I'll give it a listen, I always like to hear the other side. Being from MA I always surprise people when guns are brought up and they say I bet you like buying guns now that your in VA! I usually say, Yep! and I liked buying guns in MA too! then........You guys carry guns there? cracks me up! I've got a lot of friends back home, some of them on the left who love guns as much as all of us. I think the whole left would change if all their freedom loving members used their voice and let that be known. :machinegun:

Near as I can tell, a progressive is a liberal that's trying to get elected.

I'm reading a book that at the beginning of which the author purports to explain the difference. It's called "Science Left Behind", and is about the way "scientific proof" is systematically either faked or wildly misinterpreted by politicians. Worth the read, if I can ever finish another one and get back to it..

Liberals grew to love the nanny state (as long as it coddled those they deem worthy-screw you business and/or property owners!) and conservatives the authoritarian state (as long as its iron heel rests on the neck of those they deem worthy-you deserve it you gay commie pinko!).

Liberty kind of fell by the wayside quite awhile ago.

Not for me, it didn't. And I hope it hasn't for anyone else around here, either.

If you want a good read check out "Our Patchwork Nation" by Dante Chinni, it's kind of like a anthropological study of the US but really interesting stuff. Its about a whole lot more than just the red state, blue state concept. More like a what makes us tick type approach.

Episode 5 is now up. We normally release every two weeks, but the Web site administrator will be out of town that week on business, so we put it up a few days early.

Topics are as follows:

1.) The "Evil Gun Lobby", and
2.) Challenging bigotry.

Given the general political bent on this gun board, I suspect most people here will find find the first half more interesting to them than the second half. Just a heads-up.

Episode 6 is now up. Topic: The Case for the Private Face-To-Face Transaction.

Basically, this is my argument for why we need to always maintain the private sale. Some fellow Liberals don't think that maintaining it is important. I disagree.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Episode 7 is now up.

http://liberalsguncorner.com/2012/12/12 ... he-future/

For a lot of years now, a lot of fellow Liberals have been packin’ what looks to me like a blanket hate toward White men. This has taken a major upswing since the November 2012 re-election of President Barack Obama. White men are now derisively, and even vitriolically, dismissed as “obsolete” and “irrelevant”. Are blanket hates like this justified, toward anyone? Is this the truly “Liberal” way to act toward our White brothers?

I believe otherwise. Last I checked, blanket hatreds are how we got Jim Crow, but I see a lot of fellow Libs doing it just the same. Waitasec…aren’t such blanket hatreds the polar opposite of what we’ve been claiming to fight for, for all these years? You might also be passing up on some really good marksmanship and reloading knowledge if you do that.

We also tell a story, a warning about what could happen if We, as The People, don’t always remain vigilant about our Constitutional Rights–ALL of them. There is, of course, a special focus on the Second Amendment, which is the teeth that ensures all the rest of ‘em. The road to a loss of liberty is not as long as we think.

Episodes 9, 10, 11, and 12 are up.

Episode 9 talks about the benefits of reloading your own ammo.

http://liberalsguncorner.com/2013/01/20 ... t-matters/

Episode 10 has my Dad on. We discuss gun policy in general, and that includes his views not only on the right to carry, but also of so-called "assault weapons".

http://liberalsguncorner.com/2013/02/10 ... un-policy/

Episode 11 is, in a sense, a flip-side to Episode 10, where I present a different view about so-called "assault weapons" from Dad's view. Also, Cowboy T engages--and counters--"Code Pink" at the Chantilly Gun Show!

http://liberalsguncorner.com/2013/02/23 ... t-weapons/

And Episode 12 describes what I see as the difference between true Liberalism and American Libertarianism.
