Best I can suggest is Izaak Walton off route 704. I think members are allowed to hunt that property but I suspect it gets a bit of pressure. There is a WMA off of routes 17 and 50 near Paris.

There was a Methodist Church retreat in Loundon that alllowed deer hunting. I hunted there about 10 years ago and it was overrun with deer. One morning I sat down , lit a cigarette, shot a deer then started to finish my cig when another deer showed up to commit suicide. two deer within the first five minutes of hunting wasn't bad. Ended up seeing 35-40 deer the rest of the day.

Do you remember the name of the retreat? Or the location? I would love to get some local rifle in, my hunting club is out in Augusta County.

I can't remember the name of it or exactly where it's located. I only went once. They have banned to use of rifles for deer hunting since i was there. Doesn't make much sense, you can use shotgun, pistol, or muzzleloader. I'd grab an Encore pistol in .308.
