Trusted FFL's to take delivery

I'm going to need an FFL to take delivery of a special order item and I don't know who I should use.
I previously had a bad experience in Detroit with an FFL receiving and shooting a gun I ordered and they took delivery on. Since I don't know or have a relationship with any of the shops here I wanted to ask you all.
What are the average FFL fees I will be looking at?
Thanks,
W.

$20 - $30 is the typical transfer fee around here.
This is a good place to start:

what part of the state are you in? I've found fees from $15 - 35 in the hampton roads area. The $15 one is from First Shot Shooting Supplies in VA BCH off of Lynnhaven. You have to let them know you are a member of this forum.

Coastal Gun Works off of Witchduck road is a nice small shop I like going to. $22 for the first gun and i think it was $10 for each additional. So if you get a bunch at once it is good. But i'v seen shops charge like $40 a gun so ask ahead of times. If you are getting an AR or AK they specialize in modifications for them. Let me know if you want to use them and I'll put a word in for you and maybe a discount on any mods they do.

I personally recommend Six Rivers Armory just over the York River in Gloucester. Randy Greene is the owner. He only charges $20 for transfer fees and it's much closer to you. The address is 4750 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, VA 23072. Phone number is (804) 824-9244. Give him a call.
