ROANOKE, Va - More women are exercising their second amendment right. They're bearing arms in record numbers.
A recent Gallop poll shows 23% of women own a gun. The highest number recorded by the poll.
On Monday a new group met in Roanoke. It's called "A Girl & A Gun".
Inside PSS Range and Training in Roanoke they took turns firing shots and their aim is good.
"I think that it's great that women are enjoying guns," says Kathy Chandler, "I mean it's not a man's toy."
The club was founded by a Texas woman. She was tired of being the only girl at the shooting range and decided to start the group. It offers woman encouragement, lessons and company at the range.
"The past 18 months we've had a huge influx of women who are buying guns for personal defense, home defense and just for fun," says founder Julianna Crowder.
