Kimber custom TLE 2, with leather mag pouch, 3 wilson magazines, and a CQC adjustable waistband holster.
Even came with original hard case, which is weird cuz most guys (for some strange reason) keep those.
Its got all the trimmings like hard rubber grips and tritium sites. More than I need actually, cuz I dont intend to carry it. Its just a range gun and a collectors piece since everyone keeps telling me I need to have a 1911. The only way its lacking is being single stack, but as I understand it that opens up more accessories to me.

I guess I should buy one of those takedown tools or bushing tools or whatever they're called. Am not gonna scratch the hell out of the bushing trying to get it off with pliers and a screwdriver.

Welcome to the brotherhood. Perhaps in the fullness of time you'll become a full-fledged addict. You could not possibly have gone wrong. The TLE II looks like a nice pistol, and Kimber is a good solid builder of 1911s.

Mine looks exactly like the factory model. Previous owner did nothing special to it. He did however clean the thing DAMN good, and oiled it quite nicely. Thats always a good sign.

I find it easier and you don't have to worry about scaring up the gun...some aftermarket bushings also require there on specialized bushing wrenches, takes that element out of play.

I guess I learned to do it the really hard way, push in on the plug with your finger and then rotate the bushing. But then again that is the way they did it for a long time...

There's another way, you can push the slide back about an inch or so and removing the spring and bushing by hand becomes much easier. It's counterintuitive, but it works (assuming your bushing isn't so tight you have to use a wrench, which was the case on one 1911 I had).

OK, finally took pics of my own.

I accidentally let it go a couple days without cleaning the outside (always run the boresnake through when I'm done shooting). Outside is kinda messy, need to clean again more thoroughly.

Couple of comments.

1) Welcome to the joys of shooting a 1911. You said the only issue is that the magazine is single stack, but think about how uncomfortable that would be with a double stack mag in there! I know people shoot double stack .45s but I prefer the slimmer handles on single stack mags.

2) You said you don't intend to carry... but give her a chance! Not only does the 1911 look cool OWB, it's slim profile makes it ideal for IWB carry.

If you have a 7 rd flush bottom mag, you can use the rounded end of the bottom of the mag to push down the spring stopper and rotate the bushing.

Nope, Wilson combat mags with the plastic hump butt plate.
