Goose huntin anyone?

Guys, with the summers end most farm ponds are starting to show new family groups of resident Canada geese playing around in the shallows. To hunt these birds requires decoys ,layout blinds and all the other junk needed to fool they into gun range. It is not a sport that everyone does or likes to do so I just thought that maybe some of you may have just such a spot and would like to spend a morning goose hunting. I have enough gear for the hunt, all you will need is a problem pond/field and a gun and some shells. Anyone?

Did it in my teens, but on the Canadian border you can't roll up on them in a golf cart and beat them to death with a 5-Iron! Point of aim needs to be on the head. Head and neck shots will drop them, but I've put 2 3/4" #4 shot into some of them and watched them fly off. Lead, and then lead a little more. The breast feathers are thicker than they look.

Speaking of shot size...what size steel shot do you use for geese? What steel shot no's correspond with lead shot?

I am trying for a lottery close where I live. I might get a chance with my buddy in MD.

I'll let you know if I find places and you can let me know too.

I really enjoyed the one time I went out last year.

I have been practicing wobble and skeet over this summer.
Keep in touch

Also if you try for any lotteries in VA for goose or anything let me know.
I will try for those same lotteries and we could be each other guests maybe.
