USP45 v. HK45

Anyone have an opinion? I've shot a friends USP 45 and 9mm thought they were both pretty solid, I'm curious if anyone can offer some thoughts on the HK45 especially if they have experience with both.
Thanks

Isn't the HK45 supposed to be the next evolution of the USP? Didn't I read that somewhere?
I've got an HK45C. One of those deals where I traded for something I wanted and wound up with the HK45C thrown in as boot. I frankly am neither favorably nor unfavorably impressed with it. It's an OK pistol, but it just doesn't blow my skirt up. Based upon having once fired an H&K shotgun that was slick as snot on a doorknob, I expected an H&K action to be a lot smoother than this pistol is. Never held or saw a USP 45.

In my opinion, the HK 45 never lived up to its hype. Two big names, Vickers and Hackathorn, provided input for its design. I don't think HK followed enough of their recommendations, probably due to production cost considerations. Todd Green did a 50,000 round year long test - tons of HK 45 info here:

I have a USP in .40 S&W. It's a solid pistol that performs well. But, In my opinion there are better value pistols available. The S&W M&P in .45 ACP is a very solid performer. It's striker fired and has no hammer though. But a thumb safety is an option if desired. Mag and slide releases are ambidextrous.

I had a USP 40 and I couldn;t hit the broad side of a barn! I didn't like the trigger creep or how much you had to let off for a follow up shot. I stick to my 1911 now-a-days. Heard nothing but great things from an XD.

dormin, you got a hk45c thrown in as boot? wow! I mean, it's only a 700-900 pistol!
I have the ups 45c and the biggest difference is the updated grip as well as serrations on the slide. To me (because I have smaller hands), the hk45c shoots much better. I love my ups 45c but am looking to upgrade to a hk45ct.

I've had multiple chances to fire my friends USP 40 tactical before I got my HK45. At first I thought it had to much features of the P30 but after shooting it, I found that I liked the grips better than the USP and the action was smoother. I added a TLR 4 light and love it.

I wish I deserved your admiration. Best I can remember, it was actually something like a 3-guns-for-4-guns-with-cash-on-the-side-and-a-promise-to-either-dance-at-my-next-wedding-or-piss-on-my-grave sort of a deal that old farts sometimes make mostly to amuse each other. I got a good deal (I think), but I didn't steal nuthin'.

If you have small hand and need to conceal it, the hk45 is the top. If you need extra capacity mags and near perfect triggers then go with the usp.
I think it's all about what you're looking for that decides on which is best.
Both are tops with me.

Personally I never got what all the hype was about with these pistols. Like Dorman said...not bad but never really excited me. There are numerous pistols that I prefer that are a lot less money. I have shot but will never buy one.

I held quite a few .45 "tupperware's", and the one I liked best was the Springfield XD (not "XDM) Tactical with thumb safety. I have my reasons, but like cars? We all "fit" better in different vehicles.
HK has my ire up in the fact that they refuse to market weapons/magazines COMMERCIALLY that would be popular sellers! If you hate "Citizen-owned Firearms", then I don't need to own yours.
