I had an idea . . . Gunz-n-Cookin'

So I thought I'd let it free before it died of loneliness.

Like many folks, I'm addicted to cooking shows. Also addicted to Top Gun and Sons of Guns (you can keep American Guns for so many reasons). There has to be a way to combine these two things into one show. I know that we are a geographically diverse group, but I think the miracle of the WeberNets will cure that.

We start as a pod cast, get Discovery to pick it up, get paid to shoot and cook . . . PROFIT!!!!

Obviously, this needs work.

We need to come up with a good name.

Lead Chef
America's Test Range
Diners, Drive-Ins and Down Range
Heat Seekers (works as is)
Paula's Best Shots
Worst Shots In America
Bobby Flay's Glock Addiction
Lead Meets Grill

Let's hear your ideas

Smoke 'em and smoke 'em.

Kill 'em and grill 'em.

That might be fun actually. A couple shooter chefs get the meal going and when they can spare 30 seconds away from the kitchen from time to time they unload a pistol or a rifle from a balcony or a kitchen window. They can even give it a quick review as they resume their cooking. I'd definitely be amused to see Giada chop up some onions, throw them in a skillet, and then unload a drum equipped Saiga 12 out her window at a target.

Its gotta be better that some of the shows on the "History Channel"

Lets see, we can shred lettuce with a well placed 308 round, maybe crack eggs with a 22. I'm really starting to feel this.

I am a professional chef, I have a culinary degree and a baking and pastry degree. I am totally down with this YO. I am brand new to shooting, but I would love to chop then run to shoot, then chop some more. Or we could have a relay race that would have one person cook then shoot, then have their team mate tagged in to cook and shoot, and whoever can make a edible plate and have shot the most of their targets at the end wins.

How about
Around the Range in 80 plates
On the Range in the Range

I think the first half of the show you should be hunting and then bring your game back to the kitchen and show how to prepare it. Of course you would have to intergrate zeroing your sights in and proper handling techniques of the firearms, but i think it could work.

Call it "Natures Kitchen"

Just a thought

VERN FOR THE WIN! I was thinking the same thing!

So many people think they're stuff just magically appears in the store. Showing someone raise a garden, harvest some game, and calling it "Nature's Kitchen" is a SPECTACULAR IDEA!

Plus? Pisses off PETA with a passion! :hysterical:

Been done already. Don't remember the name, but there's one that comes out of Kentucky that I've seen on Outddor Channel (or maybe a Public TV channel out of KY). One guy hunts, and his partner cooks it. The partner that cooks strikes me as more at home in the kitchen than the field, if you know what I mean.

But ya'll let me know when you get your show put together. I'll do a segment on an old Hillbilly delicacy . . . . . Bear's Ass & Gravy.

I saw textbook gluttony. You saw freedom. Well, I guess you can't have the former without the latter.

America doesn't need more cooking shows, but if I had to pitch this I'd tap the guy from Primal Grill.

See, the guy grills in the open with cows walking around while he does, smelling their compatriots roasting flesh while they chew their cud and ponder who is next. I find this a fascinating example of psychological warfare against our bovine nemesis.

Now, heres where KaosDads idea comes in; periodically he can whip around and unload a high power round from whoever the sponsor is that episode, and drop a cow as necessary.

Perhaps have a trademark one liner, like, "YEEHAW, grillin n' killin'!" while waving the rifle around.
