New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is proposing another ban on unhealthy foods. This time, he wants to outlaw super-sized sodas and other sugary drinks.

The first-in-the-nation ban would limit sweet drinks to 16 ounces at venues across the city ranging from restaurants to street carts to movie theaters

Keeping the world safe from soda. Nice to see that King Bloomy has solved all of the serious problems in the Big Apple.

Maybe it will keep his mind off trying to outlaw guns for a while.

I think all gun stores in NY should give away a free 32 oz drink with any $20 purchase of ammo or any firearm.... But that's just me.

Being that it's NY, I was imagining a "Guns for (Big) Gulps" turn in

Are there even any gun shops left in city limits? It's crazy in that entire state, my older brother is only allowed to buy the ammo it lists for the hand gun he owns on his permit .... and that's just a permit to own not to carry..

most of the carry permits up there are doled out like patronage

I can see the Statue of Liberty looking out over the harbor, welcoming immigrants to a new life in the land of freedom. :welcome: Then they ask for a large Coke and they're asked to leave. Thank God it doesn't effect diet soda. Everybody knows 17 of them a day are so much healthier!

The funny thing is even in NYC you can get free re-fills on soft drinks (damned near only "free" you'll get there), so a medium soda can be refilled until big-gulp sized anyway.

No gun stores in the 5 boroughs. The rural counties are basically "must issue" though, very gun friendly judges in the Hinterlands.

NY is a huge state, its not just the metro area.

I figured as much. I don't mind not being able to get my 64 oz. of soda - I can just get 4 16 oz.

Take that, Bloomie!

Me thinks that Bloomberg has entirely too much time on his hands. If he is the mayor of NY ,a very large metropoitan city he'd have actual work to run the city...Apparently the voters were either sold a pig in a poke or are friggin retarded morons that also need help// Sell the whole damn shebang to China or maybe Argentina? Whole lotta people there that will just love Uncle Mikey and his Certified Chickenshit.

He's not the mayor of a small city where he does hands on stuff, he has an army of bureaucrats under him to actually run things.

King Mike inherited a good thing from Giuliani, and I'll admit under his megalomaniacal watch it has largely maintained the prosperity of those times.

Of course, NYC will always be in the red anyway.

Jon Stewart’s take on the possible bigger-than-16oz sody-pop ban in NYC. It's about the only time I know of when the dipsh!t was actually funny.

I feel the same way about posting a link to that @sshole Jon Stewart that he does about agreeing with with Tucker Carlson! Click below:
