That's a good deal if the gun is in good condition (ignore the extras). Have you shot it? Are you familiar with it? The HP wouldn't be my first choice for a first centerfire pistol, but they're good guns. If you've shot it and know how to handle it, it's a great deal.

He's giving you an awesome deal, I'd jump on it. A simple tune up would make for an awesome gun.

One of the best pistols ever made. A bit large for carry, but a pleasure to shoot.

When I got mine, I immediately had three things done to it: remove the magazine disconnector, swap the hammer for a smaller carry-style hammer, and change out the safety for an extended ambidextrous model. The first improves the trigger pull, the second makes hammer bite much less likely (I still get a little nip but it doesn't break skin), and the third makes it more carry-friendly if you roll cocked and locked. I'd have upgraded the sights but I don't know of anyone making tangent night sights.

THIS!!!

"...remove the magazine disconnector, swap the hammer for a smaller carry-style hammer, and change out the safety for an extended ambidextrous model. "

And then you have one of the finest 9mm's ever made! Seriously! I have only shot a Hi-power a few times, but when it's tight, and well made, you can make a soda can "dance" with it.

I'd have NO problems carrying that as a EDC.

Many consider the Hi-Power the most refined of Brownings designs.
Fire it, if it fits, buy it! Sounds like your friend is giving you a good deal.

If not PM me and I'll take it!

I like the high power and for that deal I would buy it. I purchased a CZ85 to get my Highpower fix because I like the ergonomics better and did not want to spend $800 for a used highpower. If I was going to put that much coin down I would get a HK P30.

Good guns used them on a PSD team I was on when I was contracting due to my company not getting importation permision for our Sigs and M4s. Carrying a Highpower and a AK for 2 months made me feel so 1970s Africa.

1970s Africa was cool!

I really want to build one of these, just need to figure out how the recoil spring is set up...

Thanks guys.. :) yah the hammer is one thing i noticed while holding the pistol. I have sorta big hands so it may bite a bit...
I'll have to see about just replacing it or have a gunsmith work on it.

@ffhounddog hehe 70s Africa.. thats pretty cool.. hey they both worked right? that what counts.

@Diomed hahaaa..nice.. holy Tommy gun mod batman.. that looks like a cross between a M60 and a Tommy gun.. what is it??

It's a chopped RPD. The full size gun is a blast to shoot, literally and figuratively, so that shorty - if it works - must have been hell on wheels. Probably great for close quarters counter-ambush type stuff.

well I picked it up... shot about 50 rounds through it and...
I Iikey, I likey alot

I tried to take out the magazine disconnect safety during the first cleaning.. that thing was not coming out.!!. at lease not with out taking the hole trigger off.
that's something I'll have to do at a later time.. when i get more courageous with the hammer and punches ;)

I'll do some more range time with it tomorrow ;) :pistol:

Thats a good price. Its a single action like the 1911s. Some people aren't comfortable carrying a gun with the hammer back and safety on for their first gun. But if you familurize yourself with it really well,no problem.
