Hello VGOF

This is a spin off Post from the one I posted asking about interest in a BBQ. Reca as I have said is my partner in crime.

Here are the details:

Date: 8/11/12

Time: 3pm or 1500

Place: The Cove - http://www.covecampground.com/CabinsETC.html
There is a general admission for a day activity I assume they take only cash.
General Admission-- Per Person

Friday through Sunday and Holidays

Each Adult- $15.00

Each Child (Ages 2-11)- $7.00

What is it: A BBQ/pot luck
I will have protiens, I am thinking BBQ'd pulled pork, some marinated flank steak, maybe some chicken. If you are a vegetarian, you are more than welcome to grill some veggie burgers you bring, but I am just going to focus the meat.

I will bring some balls and game equipment so that people can play while food is cooking. Dinner at about 5pm, then Range time. =) ***

What we need from you:
Sadly, I currently am not independently wealthy, therefore I cannot feed all of you everything. Hence the pot luck. If you guys could respond and let us know if you are coming, and what you are going to bring with you. So I can plan appropriately.

Sides:
potato salad
macaroni salad
veggies
chips
cookies/desserts

Drinks:
Juice
water
soda
beer?

*** Safety:

The Cove has their own rules, however, safety is our utmost concern.

Due to small children being at the BBQ, we will all have to be on our guard.
Obviously only shoot in the designated areas. It is recommended no children under 7 in the shooting range.
Please pick up after yourself in the range. Not only is it a rule of the cove, but it is considerate of those around you.
Please police yourself if you are going to drink. Do so responsibly.

Cove Rules:
Target Range Rules

Firearms must be legal in the State of Virginia.

Please clean up after yourself. Free trashbags and a trash facility are located in the office.

Tracers and armor-piercing bullets are NOT allowed.

You will need to bring your own targets and stands.

Allingeneral if you can think of anything else we need to add I am all ears.

Whew think that is it.

Maybe I will bring my family there for couple of days. Never been there but it just might be worth it and of course I would bring plenty of goodies for the pot. I will let you know ahead of time.

Sound like a blast I might even camp the night before of the night of.

So do you want to do a RSPV list type of thing? Here is how this works:

You put your name the amount of people coming with you and what your bringing on to the list.

Copy and paste this list and add yourself following the format. If something changes all you have to do is edit and repost the list.

Jakeiscrazy, 2 others, Mac and Cheese
SecurityOperator, ?, Chips and Soda

This sounds like great fun! It will be just me for now. I will bring something healthy like a big salad as well as machineguns in .223/5.56, .45, 9mm. and 380. Bring your own ammo in these calibers and you are more than welcome to burn it up real fast. Maybe JakeisCrazy will be able to update his picture! Gonna camp before and after up there!

Allingeneral (Rick) and his crew, 7, plates, plasticware, tablecloths, napkins

We should probably consider renting a pavilion. TacticalMom, can you look into this and find out pricing/availability?

@Allingeneral So I sent an email last week and called a couple times to avail. Called today, and got a hold of a living person. Woot! The only pavilion they have are right there on the beach, By the office. Its 100 bucks to reserve the pavilion. He took my name down to reserve it and I just have to call back to let him know we want it. Right now it is under my name for the 4th. The Range is a mile away from the pavilion so we will have to drive to it. =) Let me know what you think.

Sorry guys for the change again. Last Date change for this thing.

We will be having the BBQ on August 11, 2012. Same time same place.

Sorry - that date change was my fault.

We will be renting a pavilion that's about a mile from the shooting range. So, eating and hanging out at the pavilion and shuttle back and forth to the range.

There is a beach and a lake near the pavilion and lots of hiking trails to explore. When you get tired, come hang out at the pavilion for some rest and a drink and something to eat.

Should be a good time. I'm looking forward to it! :pistol:
