Just bought my first black rifle! Where can I shoot it?

Another noob here with a few? I got my first AR from liberty arms in hopewell. Where can I sight my new ar15 in? I live in the richmond area by dominion range but I don't think they let you shoot rifles there. Also, what can I hunt with the .223 round? I know its a varmit gun but I'm from dc and I've never seen a groundhog in person.

You have never seen a groundhog? Dont know how you could miss those..they are everywhere. But being from DC I am sure you have seen a lot of weasels. I will check with my Richmond buddies and get back to you on where to shoot.

In VA .223 is not a big-game round, so you'll be confined to small game only. Squirrel, rabbit, groundhog etc.
And you need to take a hunter safety course, and get a license first.

And only certain counties allow rifles, and some that don't allow rifles during the general firearms season DO allow them for groundhogs OUTSIDE of the general firearms season.
Have you looked into the new range in Richmond?
