The Pet Peeves Thread

I have a pretty simple drive to work. It's 15 minutes each way. There's little to no traffic. But for some reason, there's an idiot in the fast lane every single day, going the same speed as a car in the right lane, effectively blocking up traffic behind them because they're too stupid or too lazy to either slow down or speed up 2mph to get out of the fast lane.
Let's hear your pet peeves.

People that pull out in front of me and then turn at the next driveway or side street usually within a block or so.....

On the interstate. People that pass you...then pull in front of you only to slow down so you have to pass them. What the hell...just pull in behind me

People who speed excessively, un-signaled lane changes and folks who ride entrance ramps til the very end.

When you can see that your side of the road is merging from 2 lanes to one lane and everyone is in the right lane for the merge. That is except this one person who thinks they are more special then everyone else and comes hell bent down the right side to the merge and forces their way in.
I sure am glad that I drive a big truck on my commute to work because I love moving over to block the lanes so the special person has to wait like everyone else. To make it better is, if one of the other drivers help you out to make the special person wait by blocking him out as well, or no one will let them into the flow of traffic.
Oh and on another note my other Pet Peeve is "Political Correctness"

Most of my pet peeves are based on ignorance. For instance:
allingeneral wrote:...there's an idiot in the fast lane every single day, going the same speed as a car in the right lane.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves, and is based entirely on driver ignorance. You will never find an official drivers handbook that calls the left lane of a multi-lane highway a
fast lane. It's not a
fast lane, it's a
passing lane!! If you aren't
passing someone, get the hell out of the lane!
- and FYI I'm not calling Rick ignorant...hell even I call it the fast lane occasionally... and then get pissed at myself
But my biggest pet peeve is the improper use of homonyms. I'm not a grammar- or spelling-nazi, but it's not difficult to figure out which to-too-two to use, or which there-they're-their is correct.

hmm...well, if you're passing someone, aren't you going faster than they are? I'm not trying to be all "Driver's Ed" about it - if I were, i would go the speed limit

That's a good one. This thread is for all types - not just motor vehicle pet peeves.
How about this one: People at WalMart who use the motorized wheel chair/cart when you can tell that they could damned well walk and push a cart like the rest of us

While I'm on the WalMart kick - what about the lady who's checking out with two carts full, and her check won't clear, so she tries her food stamps and her EBT card, but there's not enough money left there either, so her mom or sister or whoever is there with her finally steps in and pays for it all for her.
Even better when she just has to give up after 10 minutes of trying to pay for it all and then abandons it all at the end of the checkout line - and has the nerve to be pissed off because there wasn't enough money in her government assistance account to cover it all.

Rick that would require effort on thier part.
How about this one:
You really would kill for some ice cream, so you go to the freezer and you see that you favorite ice cream container in the freezer and when you open it is EMPTY! Jeeze just throw the empty container away.

When people don't squeeze the tooth paste from the bottom up, I have to go and fix it. And it drives me insane when I fix it, and then it gets screwed up again.

People (an alarming number who serve in the military) who tell me that the constitution isn't really relevant in a "modern society".

I cannot abide stupid people. Don't have enough time in the day for them.
Don't listen to the traffic laws, don't use turn signals, don't think that the laws apply to them.
I cannot abide people who assume anything. I use their assumptions against them. I like it when people assume I am little and therefore not a threat. That is one advantage I have up on them. Also people assume because of my job I am uneducated and dumb. I currently have two degrees. =)
I cannot abide people who tread on other people. It boils my blood. No I don't care who you are, and I don't care how much your husband makes... I will not kiss your ass just cause you assume I should. I will not be talked down to, and will not let you walk all over me.
Those are just a few of the peeves that annoy the crap out of me.

Welcome to my world. Fredericksburg to the puzzle palace....for 20 years!!
It's my opinion that "cruse control" has lead to the downfall of modern highway transportation.

You know what really grinds my gears.. When the person driving in front of me wants to stay back 15 car lengths when the speed limit is 45mph. Don't drive if you are really that afraid you are going to crash!
