Gotta wonder why all of a sudden this poses an unacceptable risk. Hell, in that part of Virginia, there's a possiblity unexploded ordinance just about anywhere that dates back to the Civil freakin' war. That's probably how long they've been letting people hunt there, too.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.

Shouldn't someone step in and protect the animals from the unexploded ordinance?. Maybe they should put up signs to warn the critters not to touch anything suspicious. Or better yet, impose a fine on any critters that get themselves blown up by munitions and whatnot?.

Sonofa. Wonder what's going to happen at AP Hill. There's UXO everywhere there too.

I wonder how many hunters have been killed or maimed by unexploded ordnance. None that I've ever heard of... Thank goodness the government knows what's best for all of us. What would we ever do without them?

For years I hunted right next to Ft Lee and there was never a problem. A lot of the land is being built on and expanded to. There is new housing and training building being built faster than you can blink. Last half of deer season they will take over on base because they know they are safe there. I have seen them in the last half of the season walk around and look into windows not afraid of anything on base compared to in the county where they would be scared of their own shadow.
I think basicly the base is expanding to much for hunting.
