Welcome! I'm just down the street from you. Join the range at Quantico. You will not be disappointed.

Welcome! And +1 for Quantico. Also, since you're Army check out the Marine Corps Exchange when you go to Quantico. Very nice gun & accessories section there. Kind of stuff you don't normally see at an AAFES or NEX. Hooah?

What do you think of Sharpshooters?

Sharpshooters is a nice range and for the most part the people that work there don't seem to condesending to me at least, of course like every other place i've been there are always a couple who seem like you are just wasting their time when you ask anything. the only places i've been that everyone i came in contact with that were always helpful and acted like the really enjoyed what they were doing are Va Arms and Shooters Paradise. Since Shooters in no more Sharp Shooters is the closest range.

I can tolerate some condescension, so I'll try Sharp Shooters at some point. I've heard good things about Va Arms -- just wish they had a range.

Rang e 82 is in Midland, VA. For the price, I would look into Quantico. Membership is based on your rank, the max would be 100 bucks a year. There is a 300 yard kd range, 1000 yard kd range, two outdoor pistol ranges, skeet and trap. They also run competions, as well as training. Go out one day when they are holding an F class match and learn from the folks that know how to reach out and touch someone.

Disclaimer, they will not let you shoot anything bigger (faster, this includes .270) than a .308 on the 300 yard range. Every once in a while one of the range safety officers will look the other way if you are only trying to zero.

Hey Just went there for the first time yesterday & I was pleased with the experience. Everyone I spoke to was genuine and helpful. Both handguns & AR's were welcome. Nice inventory, enough range lane space, digital readers for the targets, and easy to find location. 100$ start up fee at 35$ a month for a non Military/LEO individual. It is a one year contract that can not be cancelled unless you are moving out of state. I still want to check out Range 82 before sealing the deal. But I was happy with my visit.

Blue Ridge is fine, the NRA Range is better. What's not to like about a 50 yard indoor range that lets you shoot handguns and rifles up to .458 WinMag? And it's a lot cleaner/better ventilation than either Blue Ridge or Sharpshooters. I go to Sharpshooters because it's convenient and when I'm only shooting pistol or bird shot out of my shotgun.
