To say this handgun is accurate is a complete understatement. I started out at 50yards today and put the first few shots high while messing with the rear sight adjustment screw. The previous owner had it sighted in way high, but I suspect it has not even been shot much, a safe queen if you will. At almost 20years old there are no scratches or dings to be found, the cylinder face had barely any marking on it from being fire.
The second six shots were all inside the size of a human head at 50yards... Completely floored me. The third six were all right there with the 2nd set, some even cutting the other's holes. This was all while the guy beside me was waiting for the wind to slow down so his target would stop twitching in the very minor breeze, with an AR15, with a scope, on a rest, haha... To say I am impressed is not enough, I cannot believe I have not purchased a long barreled revolver before now.
I stretched her out to 100 yards and managed to keep the bullets on the paper, I guess a LOT more practice would be needed for a group at that distance, or maybe a scope but I am not scoping a handgun. I am in love with this Ruger already.
I just loved LOVED throwing up this .44mag and putting the rounds where I wanted. None of my other handguns even come close... Too bad I could never pull off concealed carrying it ! I only put 50 rounds through it and cannot wait to really put her through the paces. Just need more paychecks for some ammo
I use a metal frame stand for my targets. One round struck one of the crossbars that runs behind the middle of the taget, needless to say my frame has a big whole in it now and the impact broke the weld on one side.
I let the fiancee shoot it also. Besides not liking the grips of the gun, she managed to fire 3 rounds before saying enough. So the recoil is not bad at all, even that impressed me. The weight of the gun must take a lot out of it as it was fairly quick to recover from and re-acquire a target.
