IMHO its not just Obama that's a threat to this country. It's also his supporters with the money and influence that OWN him and have their hand up his back like some cheap suited puppet/ He's got an awful lot of balls to act the way he does and not have some serious backing somewhere for his idiotic agenda and ideas. Without some very intense investigative work we'll probably never know just how deep the push behind him actually goes.

Interesting:
Obama has tipped his hand. He’s showing the entire country what he thinks about our military service people – the people who risk their lives for their country are worth less than civilian defense workers who push papers around in Washington
The hate soldiers feel for him is palpable:

Theres a ton more of these on Google images.

As a general rule people don't crowd around to to touch or get pictures of people they dislike. I think Obama will sweep the military vote easily. Most soldiers are young and most young people vote Democrat.

When you're in the military and the POTUS visits your unit, trust me - you're going to be there...you're going to want to take a picture...even if you detest the man and his policies.

Funny thing, sold out liberal progressives post doctored pictures and don't even realize it!

The military is hamstrung by the idiots rules of engagement. I talk to soldiers every day. Most aren't fooled by the liar in chief.

Do you have to form a human wave and rush the guy then?

Look at their faces; they're smiling.

The duty of the soldier is to follow the orders of the commander in chief. As a former soldier I can say I wanted to look favorably at Nixon and had he showed up I would have smiled and wanted to shake his hand. I was sadly disappointed in his leadership none the less and didn't vote for him.

As soldiers under Obama now, I watched my fellow comrades in arms murdered by PC rules of engagement and although I was much more liberal then I still knew it was wrong.

Wonder if kreutz can pick out the fake images?

They are all obviously staged photo ops.

Let me try to put this into perspective. I served (Navy) at the White House Communications Agency for 5 years from 1997 - 2002. I flew on AF-I, AF-II, and worked at the WH and Residence often, so I was around Clinton, Gore, Bush, & Cheney on a regular basis. Not saying we were "friends" either -- I did my job in the background and rarely was recognized because that's not our job. End of story. The smiling you see in these pictures is two things, in my opinion, based on observation:

1) The draw of being around someone famous. By this I mean that you are in the presence of one of the most known, and arguably most famous, people on the planet and there is a sense of awe. Yes, even if you don't politically agree with that person or even like him as President. I couldn't stand Clinton's policies or his personal conduct, but when I was around him it was hard not to be impressed by his charisma and, yes, even smile.

When my wife retired from the Army in 2010 (she and I worked at the same Agency), she and I were afforded a private meeting with Joe Biden in his office in the West Wing. I can't stand the guy, I think he's an idiot -- but I was still in awe of being around the VP. The guy is a politician. He is a smooth talker. Only the devil is better at it.

2) Most Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines that I knew are Conservatives. Few were liberals or democrats. But we still are required to support the Commander-in-Chief, so you will never see tomato throwing at the President. If you did, besides being severely reprimanded or brought up on some trumped-up UCMJ charges, you can kiss your military career goodbye. As for the smiling, see #1 above.

By the way, the military is starting to voice it's collective opinion of Obama, just not overtly:

Thanks for the input and perspective. I never met a President while I was in the Army, so I took the pictures at face value. I mean, is it just me or do they seem genuinely happy to meet him?

@Kreutz...
not sure it's realistic to venture a guess at whether they're "genuinely happy to meet him" based on any picture from the interwebz. if someone was there to witness and report, that might carry some weight, *depending* on the veracity of the report.

i have a number of friends in uniform. my unscientific poll, as of today, is 8 to 2 anti-Obama, not that they'd publically express that, though...

Might just be another in my "I was wrong" column then.

Its grown exponentially since I got married so it doesn't even ding my pride anymore. :first:

Not sure I'd call it happiness, but rather being star-struck. It really is a sense of awe of being around someone you see on television all the time.

I think some of what you see in those pictures also comes down to race, even though this President has done much to set back race relations and create division in our country based on race and wealth (but that's a different topic). Many, but not all, of the active duty military personnel I know who support of Obama are African-American. I know of one who is white. My point is, take another look at the pictures -- there are quite a number of African-Americans there to meet the President and particularly at the front of the crowds, cameras in-hand. In today's Army, approximately 50% are Caucasion, 20% are African-American, 11% are Hispanic, and the rest listed as "Asian" or "other," yet their representation in these photos would be higher than these numbers suggest. I think you are seeing some genuine happiness from pro-Obama veterans in these pictures.

By the way, in my previous post I mentioned going with my wife to have a private meeting with Biden upon her pending retirement from the Army. This is a privilege afforded people who serve at this Agency, but is usually in the form of an Oval Office photo with the President. She turned down a picture with Obama for a sit-down with Biden for several reasons, among which was that she was a VP Comms Officer (think counterpart to the Mil Aide) and spent a lot of time around Joe and Jill. She didn't like Biden's politics either, but always said he was a nice guy.

When I look closely at those pictures (something I was not eager to do, I admit), I see a number of rather stoic faces. And those are among the people who got closest to Obama. If you exclude the black faces on the theory that racial pride is an issue, there is a larger percent of not-smiling or ambivalent expression even among those who got in the closest. I wonder if those who were farther back in the crowd might not have been the most not-happy ones.

And I'm not saying it is so, but I was really stricken by how articial the picture where Obama is wearing the white shirt seems. Maybe it's an artifact of these ultra-high resolution digital images they capture these days, but it looks like somebodt cut and pasted Obama into it. My mind rejects that notion, but my eyes argue that the image is not right. Where'd you get the picture, Kreutz?

Also, in the bottom picture, it is very weird how much the guy just to the left and above Obama looks like the shooter that shot Gabby Giffords.

Google images as mentioned in the first post. Grabbed a few at random for an example, I've seen these types of images in the MSM before and (apparently in error) thought he was popular amongst the military based on the fact he gets rushed by smiling soldiers.

I didn't take race into account..a major error for a die hard racist such as myself.

I'm slipping.
