Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

I just added an RSS feed ticker that lists guns for sale in the VGOF marketplace. It should update every 15 seconds with a new gun for sale.

I'm sure it will need a bug or two worked out, but what do you think of it so far?

I like it, but perhaps it could go in that column off on the right? That particular column has always seemed blank when compared to the left column, anyway... either that, or there are ads there that I don't see on account of the ad-blocking software.

Cool idea.

It's ok. I'd suggest only using the first three lines, though. Keeps it a bit more compact and might make it easier to position elsewhere on the page should you so choose.

The right column is pretty much all ads of some type or another. You really should get rid of that ad-blocker so that you can see them

Compacted to only show the thread title without the date or description. I think I like that.

I have it running in two places now - top center and right menu. Which do you prefer?

right side looks good to me.

I liked it at the top but after seeing it on the right, it looks a little better there, I think, or the top, either one.

I actually do still see a couple of them. But, for the most part, the pages load a lot faster with out the ads.

Back on topic, I do like the ticker thingy on the right. The condensed version is much better, too. Though, I did note, as I typed that last sentence, I glanced back at the ticker thingy, and saw that one of the longer-sentence ads kinda ran into the NOVA space right below it.

I also like the frame that you added; between that and the bolder print, it's easier to make out. Good job

I think it might need to move faster. It changes every 15 seconds, currently. Might try 8 or 10 instead.

Removing the one from the center and leaving the one in the right column.

The box title font color is white, but the thread title text font is almost the same color as the box - makes it hard to read. Is this only on my machine due to font settings in IE? Would help if the thread title is a lighter font color.

Nope... using Chrome @ home and IE elsewhere.

ahhh Chrome... I will see if I can get the css to work with chrome...

Should work with Chrome now? There should be a light gray box with a one pixel black outline and the thread title/link within in dark green.

Won't know about Chrome until tomorrow, but still not working in my IE7...
