Looking for a new or used Remington 597 22LR. I would like to buy one with having to pay a FFL transfer fee (About a quarter of the guns price).

Ok how about any .22 LR rifle? Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 795.

How much are you looking to spend? I picked up a Remington 597 a few weeks ago for about $180 out the door (gander mountain). Put a Archangel Kit ($115-ebay) on it and purchased 5 30 round mags ($100-cheaperthandirt). Put about 1k rounds down the pipe already (Federal Bulk) and functions flawlessly no FTE or FTF.
