Here is a photo of my Chinese SKS completely rebuilt

It is now completely compliant with 922(r) with 7 new USA made parts.
I needed to replace at the minimum of 4 parts to make it compliant and I replaced 7.
I replaced the following parts:

Replaced the stock with aftermarket US-made Tapco Intrafuse SKS Rifle System Black which included:
- 1 Tapco SKS Gas Tube w/ Railed Hand guard, Black
- 1 Six Position Butt stock Assembly and Extension Tube
- 1 SAW Style Pistol Grip
- 1 SKS Stock Chassis
** Counts as 3 U.S. Sec 922r compliant parts

Replaced the gas piston with a Tapco SKS6602 SKS Gas Piston
** Counts as 1 U.S. Sec 922r compliant part

Replaced the magazine with Tapco SKS 20rd Detach Mag, Black this included the:
Magazine body
Follower
Floor plate.
**Counts as 3 Sec 922r Compliant Parts

Replaced the original firing pin with Murray’s SS SKS Firing Pin (depending on the year of your SKS determines the spring you will need and this set comes with both types of springs)

I also added the SKS Recoil Buffer. (The buffer reduces action noise and eliminates metal-to-metal impact between the bolt carrier and receiver cover)

My next addition to this will be the SKS Extended Magazine Catch making it easier to release the magazine the original release is a bit small and sometimes hard to work.
I am also looking at changing out the Bolt and carrier as well.
I have a SKS 3rd Gen High-profile See-Thru Weaver Scope Mount to put on as well, but I just have not put it on yet.

For those that are interested in rebuilding your SKS the following link has very detailed information on the 922(r) requirements as verified by the ATF

That looks pretty good for an ugly 'ol SKS :yankchain:

I bet the rail on the lower stock is kind of rough on the hand though. You going to put a handle on it?.
