Starbucks is being boycotted today on Valentine’s Day by anti-gun groups because they elected to follow Virginia law concerning the carrying of handguns instead of banning possession of firearms on their premises. Many of us who respect the Second Amendment and the law of the Commonwealth support Starbucks in its enlightened position, and it has been suggested that we should demonstrate that by making it a point to patronize Starbucks today by way of countering the boycott. Even though (curmudgeon that I am) I am not in the habit of paying 4 bucks a pop for coffee and regard the Starbucks experience as a ridiculous overcomplication of what ought to be the simple act of getting a cup of coffee, I would like to buy a coffee from them today.

I live 75 miles from the nearest Starbucks, so I’d have to burn 7-8 gallons of $3.85/gallon gas and kill 3 hours to visit Starbucks and buy a $4 cup of coffee. Even my zeal for the protection of our God-given and constitutionally protected rights has its limits. So you guys can do me a favor if it falls handy for you. Go get a cup of Starbuck’s coffee today, and tell them why.

Stopped in at the Ashland location just after lunch today and picked up a bag of dark roast.

On another note, it was my first OC experience. It lasted all of 5 minutes and I was the only one in there besides the 3 exployees, but nonetheless, I still had the "first time OC" jitters.

So far, I have received 7 assurances that people will go to Starbucks, and one offer to carpool.

So yah I patronized them. Strange because I never thought Starbux would be the "good guy" in any situation ever.

There were about 8 - 10 people sitting around. Not nary a peep about the Roscoe on my hip.

I just told SWMBO about the Starbucks deal. Believe it or not, she wants to go, and asked me if I was going to take my gun. (I think I might not ought to……….. a man ought to shoot anybody who charged him $4 for a cup of coffee) This from a woman who thinks I ought to be buying more diamonds for her instead of more guns for me. Oh, well, I reckon we must take our pleasant surprises where we find them.

Hmmmmm...............I wonder if that damned Starbucks is next to a jewelry store?

I broke by Starbucks cherry this morning. Saw 3 sidearms before making it out, left a 2 dollar bill in the tips jar. At 9am they were packed.

That caramel flavored coffee was the most expensive cup of joe I've ever bought.

Went to a Roanoke Starbucks during lunch... My trusty .357 Sig openly accompanied my venti Mocha, and while I didn't see anyone else there carrying, they were nice and friendly as always...

I'm in my 2nd 'bux of the day.
1st was this morning with a fellow oc'er. Good time, good convo. Left behind a few $2 bills. No problems, or antis, at all.
2nd is just now, sitting waiting for a late afternoon meeting. Place is busy and no antis in sight. No ones giving me any odd looks either.

Guess I've done my part.

I stop by everyday. $2.05 for a medium coffee isn't diner price but I don't think it's too bad a price to pay for breakfast.

Got ours early this morning on the way in to work....

Enjoyed a cup of Latte today. Enjoyed OC with the family and then proceeded to Ferry Farm Walmart for some shopping. nothing but smiles all the way around.

..... AND.... It was my first genuine open carry!! No coats to hide behind!

It was a little chilly today here but I refused to put on a jacket...

Didn't make it, just brought a truck and had to go get it registered and everything. Glad to see you guys made it out to make up for my lack of showing up.
