Experiences at Silver Eagle?

I've been out of the area for a while and wanted to know if anyone had been to Silver Eagle in the last year. (It's the newer range they built in Ashburn area, just off Waxpool and Loudoun Cnty Prkwy)

Was there about 1.5 years ago, prices were avg to high for range fees, but decent range and the people working there were very professional and nice. Haha, they got me hooked on the Federal 12ga slug loads.

I had been away for quite a while, but went back in early January. Except for one range SO all were new faces. None were carrying and they had some new rule that my nephew had to have a note from his mom that he could shoot. The fact that I would be in the lane with him was of no interest to the guy at the front desk.

So, I have no idea what happened to the old crew, but he new folks just didn't inspire confidence.

If your nephew was underage, I'd guess they were taking a really hard line on compliance with 922(x). So they were looking out for you.

Silver Eagle is a bit pricey but I just can't stand waiting 1+ hour for a lane every time I go to the NRA HQ Range so I am willing to pay the premium. It does get crowded especially when the Living Social groupies are in but the wait is still not as long as the NRA.

I was just there this afternoon with a couple of buddies. Good times.

I like it. I only really see a wait there on Saturdays. If you can go on a weekday evening, usually no wait at all. Though on saturday when all the living social people are there it can be crowded

Its pricey for the hour. I was very unhappy when my friend and I went to shoot and she was denied because she was 20 years old. They explained she had to be in the company of her parents even though she was active duty MP in the marine corps. That didnt sit well with us so our business was taken elsewhere. Its a place to shoot in NoVa which there isnt many so it is what it is...
