Salinas City (California) Councilwoman is found to illegally have an "assault weapon." It came to light because someone broke into her house and stole it.
Will they press charges against her for owning an illegal (in California) "assault weapon"?
Of course not.
Think you or I - or anyone who was not on the city council - would get the same treatment?
Hmmm.... I wonder....

City council members don't make state laws, and there's no evidence this person is anti gun. Most of California by area is actually conservative. It's the two population centers of San Francisco and Los Angeles that swing opposite.
Also, it seems that no charges are being pressed because there isn't enough evidence. Owning an AK isn't illegal unless it's a model specifically on the ban list, and 30 round magazines aren't illegal to own if you had them pre ban.

Never initiate force against another. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.KYFHO
