Monthly Purchase Limit

Hey everyone, new guy here. I have a question concerning the purchase dates when it comes to the 1 pistol per month limit. I ordered a gun online on 12/20/11. Due to the holiday season, I couldn't pick it up until 1/6/12. My question is, when it comes to the purchase limit, would the date I purchased the gun online count, or would the date I actually picked it up from the FFL count? I'm guessing date of pickup, but I wanted y'alls opinions. Thanks.

An FFL would know for sure, and most would be more than happy to answer the question if you called them. But as far as I know, it is based on your approval date from your background check. And remember there is no silly 30 day wait on private purchases done between citizens of the great state of Virginia. :first:

It's the date you picked it up from the FFL. I know this for sure.

The law is more properly worded as a "may not take possession of more than one in 30 days".

You may buy as many as you like, you just can only take one a month home :welcome:

Also, if you get your CHP, the 30 day requirement is nullified (does not apply to those with a CHP)
