Beautiful!
If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom.

Nice grips. I actually like the old RIA rollmark better...

I put checkered grips and a fiber optic front sight on my RIA .45 Tactical and love it!

Thanks... got the grips for a song. Where'd you get the FO sight? I keep hearing about Dawson Precision... I'm debating on changing out the sights, it's mostly a range/plinking/"tinker with a 1911" firearm, so who knows what I'll really end up doing.

Dawson Precision front fiber optic - they're the only ones making one with the RIA cut. It's Novak-style, but not quite the same. Had to file and fit quite a bit, but I got a nice snug fit and it's working great.

You mean to say you wrote a song for someone and they paid you with grips?

I'd like to buy a full set of internals and learn to fit them properly - keeping all the originals as backup in case I screw things up.

ha ha... No, I didn't write a song, but I did get a deal on them... had to do a little fitting to get them right on the ambi-safety (right side grip was a little too tall) so have to re-finish them.

I thought about the Dawson sight, but also debating getting a gold bead and tinkering with drilling the front sight & installing that... old school sight.

Yep, I didn't switch out the sear/disconnect or anything besides the trigger, but I'd like to get another set of internals as well and try fitting them as well. That's primarily what this firearm was for, just to tinker and learn 1911s....

Recent talk about the RIAs - i never showed all the changes - In addition to the Greider precision trigger and burled Mahogany grips, I added a stainless recoil spring plug for FLGR, stainless barrel bushing, and Tripp magazines...
