Moving out of state...CWP Question

My wife and I will be moving back to Texas soon, April.
Here is my question. Will my resident CWP become a non-resident or will I need to forfeit my current permit for a non-resident? And second, I just thought of it, if I go to Texas and get a drivers license there before the move will my resident CWP still be valid while I am still in Virginia?
Thanks for all the help.

Second question first, your VA resident CHP is only valid when paired with a VA D/L or state-issued ID card.
The VSP website makes no mention of whether a address change would be possible when moving out of state. There is contact information on the VSP website if you want to submit this question to them.

The very recent experience of a good friend and very experienced packer who got transferred out of state went like this: there was no need to convert his county-issued in-state to a VSP-issued out-of-state permit; the resident permit lives until expiration (in a nonresident capacity). In fact, the permit was a non-issue when presented with his new state's DL to a Virginia trooper (yes, I was there). According to the high-up VSP contact, if one WISHES, one MAY surrender a resident permit and apply for an out-of-state permit. But why would you want the cost and aggravation? IANAL.

Update:
So I did some asking around. A resident CWP is no valid without a Va drivers license. It's a 2 piece permit, 1 is the CWP 2 is the Va DL.
So until I get to tx perminately, I'll have to open carry, no big deal.

Well no, that's not
exactly true.....
A CHP must be presented, upon demand to a LEO along with one of 3 accepted forms of photo ID:
a photo id issued by a government agency of the Commonwealth of VA, A photo id issued by the DOD, or a photo ID issued by the Department of State.
